On September 28th, 2024, Rage Against the War Machine is holding a second rally in Washington, D.C. to protest U.S. wars, and the Center for Political Innovation is sponsoring the event. In the midst of growing efforts by our imperial state to crush antiwar organizing, the Center for Political Innovation seeks to rally those who share our anti-imperialist cause around a great mass mobilization opportunity. This opportunity is the Rage Against the War Machine rally in Washington DC, held by an organizing coalition which has brought together many different groups (including our own).

What RAWM can do is expose a large amount of the USA’s people to anti-imperialist politics, bringing our struggle against monopoly capital closer to its next stage. The first RAWM rally in February 2023 provided excellent opportunities for CPI to meet and connect with like-minded people who are ready for our pro-growth, anti-war message, and we believe the second rally will be just as productive. Our organization and our movement are headed for strategic equilibrium, where the revolutionaries have managed to operate on an equal footing with the other mainstream political forces. And RAWM, with its mass-centered messaging and cross-ideological alliances, is crucial to letting us gain that kind of presence.

The progress we’ve made has gotten us the attention of our enemies. The state’s attacks against our movement, and against this coalition in particular, are intensifying. The Uhuru 3 continue to face a danger of jail time, even though they’ve beaten the most severe of the charges against them, and we need to keep mobilizing towards their freedom. And this June, the U.S. State Department narratively targeted the RAWM coalition, showing our government seeks to persecute us too. The State Department’s Ukrainian watchdog group the Data Journalism Agency published a report called Roller Coaster From Trumpists to Communists. The forces in the U.S. impeding aid to Ukraine and how they do it. RAWM and its members were named within this report, making the CPI and our partners more likely to be attacked by the state.

The imperial state and its counterinsurgency are on the offensive, but we have the potential to counter-attack, in that we can expose the U.S. empire’s evils to the country’s masses. RAWM provides a platform for this project to change mass consciousness, and mobilize the people towards a revolt against the imperial system.
