On December 2nd 2023, the Center for Political Innovation (CPI) held its first national conference in Portland, Oregon, with excellent results. The eight-hour event, entitled Dare To Win! A World Beyond Imperialism, featured guest speakers from around the world, exclusive video messages from allies who could not attend, live music, and even a short stage play. The burgeoning CPI took yet another bold stride towards its goal: popularizing the anti-imperialist message of a new American system based in prosperity for the people rather than profit for a wealthy few. The powerful presentations of the CPI conference won the hearts of over a hundred attendees, die-hards and newcomers alike. Men and women, young and old, all came to realize the seriousness of the anti-imperialist struggle as CPI raised a rare beacon of enthusiasm and hope among the increasingly downtrodden American people. The result was an immediate upsurge in CPI membership from the enthusiastic crowd, and an accompanying boost in the morale and activity level of CPI members to continue their critical work.

Opening with a bombastic flag ceremony, CPI member Djedah kicked off the conference by detailing CPI’s achievements in 2023. By publishing groundbreaking books, holding inspiring conferences in multiple cities, protesting directly in the face of imperialists in Washington, DC, publishing online content, traveling the world building ties, and raising awareness for politically targeted figures such as Julian Assange, Omali Yeshitela, and Alex Saab, CPI has solidified its record as an active and dedicated group. This introduction can be viewed above, and more video of the conference will be published soon on the CPIUSA YouTube channel.

Dare To Win! included the following guest speakers: military analyst Scott Ritter; radio host Garland Nixon; Iranian internet personality Seyed Hosseni; vice-chair of Communist Party of Great Britain (Marxist-Leninist) and spokesperson for World Anti-Imperialist platform Joti Brar; filmmaker, comedian, and CPI member Peter Coffin; former Party of Communists USA senate candidate Chris Helali; up-and-coming Marxist writer Rainer Shea; Seattle for Assange activist Amber King; Veterans for Peace activist Rick Staggenborg; and journalist Lee Stranahan. CPI members Djedah, Noah, and John McCarthy, and CPI founder and ideological leader Caleb Maupin all spoke powerfully on CPI’s achievements, message, and direction. The conference also featured video messages of support from The Jimmy Dore Show co-host Craig “Pasta” Jardula, African People’s Socialist Party/Uhuru Movement chairman Omali Yeshitela, and Biden sexual assault survivor Tara Reade. Between speeches, activist songwriter David Rovics provided captivating live music.

CPI would like to thank all of the hardworking members and supporters who made this conference possible. Because of the passion and dedication of those who believe in a better future, this successful conference was able to gain new members, inspire existing members, strengthen connections with allies, and spread CPI’s message to new eyes and ears. After this strong step forward, CPI looks forward to filling out the year 2024 with even more groundbreaking events.
