On March 1-8, the World Youth Festival will take place in Sochi, Russia. This event, from the tradition of the World Festival of Youth and Students, will be a gathering of 40,000 youth. 20,000 of the attendees will be high achieving youth from Russia, for whom the spots are competitive. The remaining 20,000 seats will be international guests representing different countries.

The Center for Political Innovation was selected by the Russian Foreign Ministry to lead the National Preparatory Committee for the United States. Caleb Maupin, founder of the Center for Political Innovation and reporter for RT news will be the chair of the US delegation. The US National Preparatory Committee also includes Christopher Helali of the Party of Communists and Elizabeth Pekin of the American Student Union.

CPI is preparing to utilize the festival to establish many international connections and show that there is indeed an anti-imperialist movement in America, youth who understand that the future of America’s working class is with the people of the world and not Wall Street imperialism.

In November, Caleb Maupin represented the United States at the International Council where planning of the festival and its International delegations took place.

CPI members intend to participate in a press conference at the United Nations announcing the delegation before their departure, the details of which will be announced soon. CPI is also publishing two short booklets to distribute to international friends and guests. One booklet will be dedicated to standing in solidarity with Russia and the people of the Donbass. The second booklet will be dedicated to working toward Peaceful Reunification of the Korean Peninsula. CPI intended to distribute hundreds of copies of each booklet to those they meet with at the festival and build important connections for the anti-imperialist movement.

Friends and allies of the Center for Political Innovation are asked to kindly donate to help cover the cost of flights and printing of the books.
