The Center for Political Innovation (CPI) stands with former Green Party presidential candidate Dr. Jill Stein, who faces criminal prosecution stemming from her participation in a protest against Israel's war in Gaza at Washington University in April 2024. Stein faces misdemeanor assault and trespassing charges that could potentially result in up to 18 months in jail.
Jill Stein has long faced attacks from Democratic Party figures who have invoked the "Russiagate" narrative, claiming that Trump’s victory in 2016 was somehow the result of a conspiracy involving her and the Russian government. Tulsi Gabbard released files showing US intelligence official knew very well this narrative was false but promoted it anyway. Figures like Rachel Maddow continue to promote it. The Democrats seem to want revenge against Jill Stein, especially because many Muslim Americans voted for her in 2024 because the Democrats refused to even allow discussion of opposing Israel’s crimes.
CPI particularly appreciates Stein's solidarity with the Uhuru 3, the African People's Socialist Party activists prosecuted in federal court over allegations involving Russia. In September 2024, Stein attended their federal trial in Tampa, Florida, standing alongside CPI activists and speaking publicly in their defense.
Various internet personalities and opportunists, who defame CPI and spread childish rumors did nothing to support the Uhuru movement. Whatever differences we may have with Jill Stein, she is 100% better than them. Building a real anti-imperialist movement means solidarity in the face of state repression. However, certain opportunists only want to be internet famous, and celebrate the prosecution of other people as an opportunity for themselves. They should be treated like what they are, SCABS.
Now, as Stein faces possible imprisonment, CPI stands 100% with her. Everyone who challenges the Democratic Party and the anti-Russian war and censorship drive should have Jill Stein’s back.
