CPI Los Angeles Action at the Tournament of Roses Parade
We are excited to announce that the first action of CPI Los Angeles took place on New Year’s Day at the Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, California!
Every year at the beginning of January (usually on the 1st), the Los Angeles suburb of Pasadena hosts the world-famous Rose Parade, a tradition that first began in 1890. It is known for equestrian groups, marching bands from around the world, show business and other celebrities, and most of all large floats made with flowers of all kinds as well as other plants and other organic materials.
We went to the end of the five and a half mile parade route on the east side of the city, where thousands of people gathered to see the floats up close. We proudly displayed our a sign with the message 'We Need A Government of Action For Working Families' on one side and The Center For Political Innovation and the CPI website on the other side. We also printed out signup sheets from the outreach resource materials in the CPI Signal group.
While at the parade, we talked to those who passed by, answered questions about CPI, and sometimes discussed issues of the day including the upcoming Trump Administration and the ongoing genocide in Palestine. We are working on other similar actions coming up as well as other outreach ideas to increase our presence here on the west coast — stay tuned for more!
In solidarity,
